In September of the year 2018, Bamboosaurus Studio, led by Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, in collaboration with the company Site-Specific, organized a workshop in Phetchaburi Province. The workshop aimed to foster knowledge and ideas exchange on the use of bamboo materials. It involved farmers and residents from Tha Yang District, intending to transfer the knowledge gained from the studio to the local community. The focus was on learning about lifestyle and bamboo utilization techniques in a community context.
The workshop aimed to stimulate practical usage and knowledge creation within the community, encouraging the residents to apply their learnings to innovate new things. The activities included both lectures and hands-on sessions, such as the construction of a small-scale bamboo fertilizer building.
In the current year 2019, the villagers have expanded and enhanced the bamboo structures to increase usable space and create benefits for the community. Various activities related to organic farming have been undertaken.
Bamboosaurus Studio is pleased to witness the villagers’ learning and knowledge expansion, leading to the creation of benefits for the community. This workshop represents our initial involvement in organizing such events, and we hope that communities from different places will become more interested in local materials like bamboo. We believe in the potential of bamboo to bring about positive changes and transformation within various communities.
